Verbatim Communications Limited, Publishers of Effectual Magazine is seeking to recruit Transcribers on a contract basis, for our Book Publishing and Legal Solutions business. Candidates must:
1) Be responsible for, and proficient at transcribing (typing) audio files into a word processing document i.e. must listen to audio recordings of spoken words and type those words in appropriate formats.
2) Exhibit significant typing skills and ability to type at least 40-50 words per minute.
3) Good English Comprehension and strong command of the English Language.
4) Ability to proof-read own transcribed work and be at least 90% accurate.
5) Should have experience in Transcribing different accents, especially accents of Nigerian descent and/or Foreign origin.
6) Past experience in transcribing audio text into written format will be an added advantage.
7) Graduate of Journalism, Mass Communication, English or Secretarial studies will also be an added advantage.

The candidate should also have the ability to spot contextual errors in the transcript and eliminate inconsistencies in them by matching it with the audio file.
